Relação entre a autopercepção de saúde, satisfação com a pele e o nível de vaidade em idosos longevos

Abstract

The skin is more sensitive to the human being and its appearance can influence the self-esteem and the level of vanity of the individuals. The skin is visibly transmitted by the process of senescence and the expressive cutaneous changes and are more evidenced in the literature, are: xerosis, roughness, wrinkles, sagging, hyperchromias, benign lesions and cutaneous tumors. The characteristics of an aged skin reflect not only the chronological wear and also interfere with the level of vanity, in the psychological aspects, influencing the quality of life. With the increase in life expectancy, the growth of the population of elderly people (80 years or more) is necessary for studies related to this process, since a good perception of health is related to a good self-information, the first one can be connected with the level of vanity and satisfaction with the skin. In this way, the present work seeks to relate a self-perception of health with a satisfaction with the skin and the level of vanity. Two-thirds of the respondents said they were satisfied with their skin. This percentage is higher among women (70.59%) with average and higher education levels (70%) and married women (80%), good health practice (80%) and considering the time that older people their age (69%). A relationship between skin satisfaction and a sociodemographic characteristic was significant only for the marital status p <0.001. He has also witnessed good / good self-perception of health, as well as high level of concern as well as physical, positive characteristics.
