Da "consciencialização" à "democracia" : a historicidade na interpretação de Onésimo Silveira sobre a identidade nacional em Cabo Verde

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the historicity in interpreting of Onesimo Silveira on national identity in Cape Verde, based on the comparative study of two of his books: "Consciencialização na literatura caboverdiana" and "A Democracia em Cabo Verde". To do so, initially we studied the phenomenon of formation of nations and nationalisms in the European and African context, with a case study on the specificity of Cape Verdean case. After this stage, we contextualize the historical moment of the two works of reference, the first written in 1963, during the struggle for decolonization of African countries where Portuguese is the official language, and the second, written forty-two years later, during the last year of the author in the Cape Verde ambassador condition in Portugal. The last stage of this analytical work is a debate about the historicity of thought of Onésimo Silveira in the two works, regarding the discussion about national identity in Cape Verde, taking in to account both historical categories "space of experience" and "horizon of expectation", proposed by Reinhart Koselleck.
