O papel de uma comunidade de prática de professores na promoção do interesse dos alunos em aulas de química

Abstract

This dissertation presents the results of an investigation made within a community of practice formed by Chemistry teachers (n = 7) in Porto Alegre, Brazil. One goal of the research was to examine how the participation of teachers in a community of practice could modify his views on education and benefit their work in the classroom. Another objective was to understand in what sense the participation of teachers in this group could change students' interest by Chemistry classes in their schools. Meetings were held weekly over five months and applied questionnaires to the teachers and their students in schools. The meetings were audio recorded. Questionnaires and the meeting results were handled by textual discourse analysis. The research has shown that students and teachers have the same understanding about the causes of students' disinterest by Chemistry classes, being assigned to cases involving teachers, students and the school as an institution. Participants shared professional experiences and, appropriating new conceptions of education, began to use teaching strategies that allowed the increased interest of students for classes, which can be seen in the story of these students.
