| Title: | Harmonia vocálica em jovens escolarizados de Porto Alegre : uma análise variacionista |

| Abstract (native): | O presente estudo tem como tema a elevação variável das vogais médias em pauta pretônica antes de vogal alta, referida como harmonia vocálica, como menino~minino, coruja~curuja. O objetivo é investigar e analisar os dados quantitativamente a partir da perspectiva da Sociolinguística, com base em Labov (1965,1972), a fim de comparar os resultados dessa amostra inédita, constituída somente de jovens de 16 a 23 anos, com resultados de outras já realizadas com informantes de mais de 25 anos. O tema já foi objeto de estudo de diversos trabalhos, entre eles Bisol (1981), Schwindt (1995) e Casagrande (2003), com dados do português falado no sul do Brasil. A amostra utilizada neste projeto pertence ao projeto Variação Linguística do Sul do País (VARSUL), criado em 1988. Constitui-se de entrevistas de 19 informantes da cidade de Porto Alegre. Os dados foram expostos em tabelas e os resultados discutidos e interpretados. Foi feita uma tentativa de generalização de resultados com outros estudos |
| Abstract (english): | The present study deals with the variable raising of mid vowels in pretonic context, referred to as vowel harmony, in words like menino~ minino, coruja ~ curuja. The aim is to investigate and analyze the data quantitatively from the perspective of sociolinguistics, based on Labov (1965,1972) in order to compare the results of this unprecedented sample, consisted only of those aged from 16 to 23, with results of other researches already held with informants over 25 years. The topic has already been the subject of studies by other scholars, including Bisol (1981), Schwindt (1995), and Casagrande (2003). The sample used in this project belongs to Projeto Variação Linguística do Sul (Project Language Variation in the South - VARSUL). This research consists of interviews with 19 informants of the city of Porto Alegre. The data will be reported in tables and the results discussed and interpreted. An attempt of generalizations will be made with results of precedent studies |
