Entre ciência e política : sutura e compossibilidade em Alain Badiou

Abstract

The dissertation investigates how the phenomenon of climate collapse, incorporated into philosophy through debates about ecological rights and ecology, can reveal, within Badiou's philosophical system, a suture between the scientific condition and the political condition. The dissertation focuses on why scientific truth is not transposed into political truth and how these fields have their own ways of doing things, while philosophy has an external capacity to guide us between these boundaries. “Between science and politics” is an effort to bring Alain Badiou's philosophy closer to what has come to be called environmental philosophy, a field that is neither unified nor absolute. In order to carry out this analysis, we will first present a general structure of Alain Badiou's philosophy, going through the concepts of conditions of philosophy, truth, event and subject, as we understand that they provide us with the basis for thinking in the author's terms. In the second chapter, we will, in the first part, better understand the status of both politics and science in Badiou's philosophical project, so that we can understand why these two fields are conditions of philosophy. In the second part of the same chapter, we will work on the concepts of suture, thought and composability, proposing a way of bringing Badiou's philosophical system and environmental philosophy closer together.
