O absolutismo e o rei : as representações do poder real nos jogos analógicos comerciais sobre a Era Moderna (séc. XV-XVII)

Abstract

Representations have a great capacity to influence the formation of ideals, identities and conceptions, being present in different media and areas within society. From this perspective, analyzing how representations of historical periods are (re)produced in cultural media, such as in commercial analog games, becomes pertinent due to the constant growth of the games market in Brazil and the large number of games that are based on historical elements. Therefore, the present research aims to analyze the representations of the King and Royal Power in games with themes relating to the period of the Modern Era, between the 15th and 17th centuries, through the Content Analysis methodology, considering the imagetic and textual representations that reproduce an idea about the period in the proposed narrative. It is possible through this work to identify the ways in which this period is represented and the emphasis given to certain historical phenomena.
