Família, pracinha e crianças : etnografia das relações sociais em espaço público pós-Covid-19

Abstract

This research aims to analyze social relationships between children, between children and adults, between adults and adults, between children and public spaces in the post-covid-19 pandemic in Porto Alegre/RS. As it is an ethnographic work, it used the field of Child Anthropology and Urban Anthropology as a theoretical-methodological basis. The fieldwork was carried out in a small square within Redenção Park in a central area of the capital of RS. Participant observations were carried out over a period of three months, seeking contact with the fathers and mothers of the children who attended the place. The research group was defined as families who came to the square weekly after the end of afternoon classes at a school opposite the square. In addition, semi-structured interviews were carried out with three mothers and one father. The children who take part in this research are mostly from middle classes in Porto Alegre. Finally, as this is work that is interested in the post-pandemic, we sought to reflect on what the post-pandemic is, the contrast between this and social isolation for children's sociability and how and if we can realize that those surveyed were affected by the pandemic in the use of public spaces. The results of this research reinforce the importance of the square in front of schools for the social enjoyment not only of children, but also of their guardians and that the post-pandemic period for children is fraught with greater socialization due to the period of isolation they suffered.
