Educação matemática no Centro de Ciências do Rio Grande do Sul (CECIRS) : um estudo das concepções do professor Vicente Hillebrand

Abstract

The Science Center of Rio Grande do Sul (CECIRS) was one of six centers implemented in Brazil in 1965 by the Ministry of Education and Culture (MEC), in partnership with the respective state departments of education, universities and funding agencies, aiming at renewing the secondary school of scientific disciplines: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Science. Recognizing the importance of CECIRS and its influence on various scientific and educational activities over the years, in this paper we chose a cut, that is, under the gaze focus of mathematics - area of researcher training. The central objective of this study was therefore to understand how educational concepts teacher Vicente Hillebrand, responsible for Mathematics Education promoted by CECIRS from 1985 to 2000, influenced and were influenced by his work in this Center.For this we analyzed the works undertaken by that teacher in order to identify the affinity between ideas and concepts related to mathematics education. Efforts were also made through semi-structured interviews, reconstruct the trajectory of the teacher Vincent Hillebrand in CECIRS. This allowed better understand their work in continuing education of teachers of mathematics, how he established interactions with other teachers at that time influenced and transformed their educational concepts, and how he autoavalia their participation in CECIRS, emphasizing the value of experience in it subscribe. In summary, it was possible to reconstruct the trajectory of Professor Vincent Hillebrand in Science Center and highlight some of the events that most strongly marked his professional life, while contributing to the continuing education of other mathematics teachers
