Literatura digital : narrativas experimentais

Abstract

This research investigates the relationship between digital technologies and literary creation, focusing on experimental narratives and electronic poetry. Based on a theoretical framework from literature, the study analyzes how tools such as generative models, Markov chains, and HTML web pages, when used in literary creation, affect the relationship between author, reader, and text, raising new questions about authorship and the creative process. Practices such as Kenneth Goldsmith's "uncreative writing" (2011) are explored—an approach that emphasizes the appropriation and reorganization of existing texts without producing new writing. The influence of literary movements like OuLiPo is highlighted, showing how formal constraints in literary creation align with an algorithmic logic, as argued by Ed Finn (2017). The study emphasizes practical experimentation, ranging from texts that explore machine aesthetics and digital themes to interactive web pages with text generators. The production of these experiments revealed technical limitations in creating digital works and the need for more accessible tools to produce them. Ultimately, the study concludes that digital literature fosters new forms of literary text, potentially expanding the author-text-reader relationship compared to traditional printed narratives. It also proposes new human-machine relationships, moving beyond automated activities with practical ends and inviting a creative perspective on technology. Digital literature is an emerging and interdisciplinary field of study where concepts and techniques from computing and literature are interwoven to produce new works.
