Abstract

This study deals with two experiences throughout the writing process of the novel Maldito Frio, developed in the Master's Degree in Creative Writing, between 2016 and 2018. It is, first, a consideration regarding the anonymity of some people in the literature from the emergence of realism. This theme, which so preoccupied authors with the greatness of Dostoevsky, Kafka, Joyce and Saramago, is an element of the most present in contemporary literature. Authors continually use unnamed characters, with more or less accentuated effect on their narrative choices. Faced with this, the question arises to what extent and in what way this resource has served to create some works. Thus, guided by the will to understand the importance or not of names in the narrative, I undertake a journey through the writing of others seeking to understand my own. So I incorporate elements and discoveries. Also with the intention of offering an understanding of the choices that guide this literary work, part of this dissertation is a diary of course, allowing the reader to follow how some key issues of creation were resolved. Both works seek to illuminate and clarify, betting on the circulation of the word as a way of collaborating with the (trans) critical formation regarding the construction of a literary work. In light of the theoretical lens, especially of Ian Watt, it is evident the encounter this work of the ideas proposed. The novel itself also offers the possibility of dealing with some of the most expensive themes for this author, especially the political transformations that have taken place in Brazil since June 2013. Without incurring the maxim that every work is political, it is. In his own way, as this writer thinks he ought to be, he insists on trying to understand his country and his time without abandoning literary questions.
